PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE AND PRAYER: KP called the meeting to order at 7.30am. Matt Wissell said the prayer. Look, I know this guy is a trained professional and we naturally set the bar high when he says the prayer, but, I have to tell you this prayer was simply off the charts. Hes on a diet, hes loosing weightyoud expect him to be in somewhat of a weakened stateright? Not so fast Kimosabe! This guy was on his game like weve never seen. If you were not in attendance, I hope you Ti-Vod it because I dont think it can be reproduced. He was awarded one of the few, very rare, perfect 10s.

Dave Frechette is happy that Savvas has returned from Greece.
Dave Oriol is happy for trip to Wright Patterson.
Richard Traina gave a child from hell update. She is now living in Venezuela. Is it a coincidence that there is rioting in Caracas as we speak?
Rickshaw is happy that Matt Colangelo spent the entire day last Saturday fulfilling a deal to spread mulch and perform lawn clean up.
Rickshaw has assumed the responsibility of grooming relations with The West Boylston Banner in hopes of getting more coverage of our activities.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Ken Parker advises that June 8th will be youth awards day and the scholarships will be presented and some RYLA candidates will be present as well.
Richard Traina advises that the Ice Rescue Suit we purchased for the Holden Fire department is on order and should arrive soon. We hope to make the presentation at the selectmens meeting the 3rd Monday of June.

GUEST SPEAKER:
NO actual guest speaker today, but as Ken Parker was tap dancing and adlibbing, he asked Rick Walsh to tell a story about his trip to the Florida Keys last winter. We always expect the unexpected from Rick, but this one was more than we bargained for. It seems that since Rick is a retired Naval Officer, he is able to get lodging at various military installations at very reasonable prices. This year he happened to score Admirals quarters on the Navy/Coast Guard base on Key West. The digs were so big and luxurious he called some friends and invited them to join him for a week or two. One evening, while sitting on the veranda overlooking the ocean, the group chatted about the proximity to Cuba, exactly ninety miles. One fellows wife asked if Rick had ever seen any Cuban refugees arrive. Everyone laughed as Rick pointed out that this was a secure military installation and there was essentially no way anybody, Cuban of otherwise was going to land on this beach.
The very next morning, Rick awoke to shouts The Cubans are here, The Cubans are here and as he stumbled outside he saw a small boat fashioned out of PVC pipes beached right outside his quarters. The Shore Patrol, MPs, CID, CIA, FBI and other Government agencies arrived to take charge of the situation. Since the party of nineteen men women and children had actually landed on shore, regulations grant them asylum. Rick hosted this large contingent of refugees and government officials in grand fashion and has been invited to the Cuban pig roast next year to celebrate the groups one year anniversary of their escape from Castros Cuba.
